Gabe is 5!

If we knew we would have 10 more Gabes we would take them all! This little boy is remarkable in every sense of the word. He never causes us any problems, has a great sense of humor, is kind, well-mannered, athletic (he was the star of his soccer team, scoring between 3-5 goals per game!), motivated and smart (he wanted to learn how to read a few months befor he turned 4) and is intensely focused (we pray and then he repeats a happy memory over and over while having blood taken or receiving shots and never even realizes what they are doing). For his birthday dinner he asked for cheese pizza, cheetos and cheezits (oh, and strawberries) and afterwards we had a roller skating party. Happy birthday Gabe! You are a pleasure to us!

Easter 2010

This year we had the first annual St. George Easter Games. We colored eggs and then used them in all kinds of games and races; the kids had great fun. We have also included some pictures from the easter egg hunt in our backyard.

Don't you love how belated these posts are? With our four little ones we are running at peak efficiency and still cannot keep up...we do love this time though. How can something so hard be so precious and rewarding?

Wes turns 3!

Wes turned 3 on 3/3! We had a neighborhood party for him complete with an excavator cake. This little boy loves anything with wheels and knows his tractors better than most adults...enjoy the pictures.

Anna Grace pictures

Anna Grace...she is a little angel full of life and very accomodating of her brothers and sister and their schedules. They love her and she is very tolerant of their play (you will see when Gabe and Jennifer wanted to try holding her in the Baby Bjorn like mommy does). She rarely fusses and is, in general, an amazing baby. I wish I had been blogging more about her.

The Memphis Grizzlies honor Brett

The Memphis Grizzlies Foundation chose our family to be the military family of the game. They gave us 10 courtside tickets, we welcomed the players onto the court from the locker room tunnel, and they honored Brett at halftime (our family was on the Jumbotron in the arena) by reading Brett's military bio. The audience gave him a standing ovation. The kids got as much food as they could eat and a Grizzlies t-shirt to boot. It was so much fun! Enjoy the pictures...

Snow tubing!

One of our favorite activities was snow tubing with the kids & Leigh Anne & Gabe. There was a conveyor belt on the right side of the track that would transport us back to the top after our run. They had single and double tubes and we came up with every conceivable way to go down. It was a blast!

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

In January we traveled to Gatlinburg where we spent time hiking and exploring the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We also took the kids snow skiing for the first time and all of them (except for Anna Grace of course) got on skis. It was really adorable...but a challenge trying to keep up with all of them. Leigh Anne and Gabe drove over from Asheville where Gabe was doing a rotation at the VA hosptial to join us for the weekend. The waterfall pictures were taken at Laurel Falls inside the park. You can also see the giant icicles Jennifer and Gabe found along the way to enjoy!
